Plot
This plot was awesome. First time I've seen a comic book movie go this hard into pure, intense horror and gore. I wasn't super familiar with the lead actors going in, but holy shit they did their thing — acting like the rent was due tomorrow.
Cinematography
Bro, I'm not kidding when I say this might be some of the most impressive CGI I've seen in a minute, like what?? The camera angles were crazy good, and the heavy use of dark reds and deep blacks dialed that creepy atmosphere up to eleven. The makeup and prosthetics team deserve an Oscar for this movie as well. I mean they went berserk on this, man — they got my vote.
Sound
Like most great horror movies, the sound design was fantastic. Zero notes.
My Take
Now THIS is how you do a villain origin story. I won't spoil a single detail, but it was so good that I enjoyed it just as much as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which should tell you everything you need to know. The DCU is in great hands — I'm hyped. And that final scene? Jesus bro... ICONIC. That is the exact Clayface we needed on screen. You have to see this. #GunnNeverJams
