Plot
Standard live-action remake fare that doesn't really add anything new or vital to the original story.
Cinematography
The CGI felt rubbery and lacked weight, which took away from the scale of the ocean scenes.
Sound
The soundtrack is still the best part of the entire experience — those songs carry the whole film.
My Take
The acting felt very Hallmark-tier at times, and the reliance on iffy CGI really hurt it. Not terrible, but nowhere near the magic of the animated original.
