Plot
Yahya and Mark acted their asses off in this. The plot was heavy (obviously dealing with racial prejudice in US history), but the payoff at the end was well worth it. Great pacing — I was locked tf in.
Cinematography
Gave that authentic 70s vibe. Felt like watching a true retro movie, and the color grading takes you back in the best way possible.
Sound
Was amazing and the score was top notch. The end credit song was so good I already have it downloaded to my Apple library — you know I had to cop by any means (pun intended).
My Take
Fantastic film, especially knowing it's based on real-life events. I know some might view this as cop propaganda, but I really don't think that's the point. It's focused on grief, oppression, and how to navigate those worlds. Highly recommend for everyone.
